“Playing Long Ball”

Elizabeth “Bit” Birle is a 5’ 10” power hitting sophomore that hails from the state Florida. Bit plays for the Gold Coast Hurricanes 18 Gold one of the best traveling softball organizations in the country. Elizabeth is never one to shy away from competition, when she got the call to try out for the Gold Coast Hurricanes 18 U Gold a few months ago she was eager to show off her talents.   Elizabeth could not wipe the huge expression of excitement from her face. Elizabeth high would soon become a low as she received devastating news about her state tournament bound Winter Springs High School softball team.  Elizabeth helped lead her high school team to their first ever 6A Regional Championship and State Championship tournament, but this accomplishment was about to be stripped away because of some obscure rule violation. Everyone rallied around the team to keep their spirits high and to ensure them everything would come out in favor of Winter Springs High School. Elizabeth’s team was able to compete in the State Tournament where they finished in 3rd place.   Even though her team did not win the state title she believes that the adversity made the group stronger. Elizabeth knows the feeling of competing in the big game and next year she has hopes of helping her team bring home that State title.   more about Elizabeth
