Commonly asked recruiting camp questions:

1) What portions of the event are video taped?

All participants are video taped hitting from the side. Catchers are taped throwing to second from the back with throw down times announced on the video. Infielders are taped fielding 5 ground balls (from 1 angle), Outfielders fielding 5 flyballs (from 1 angle) and Pitchers are taped throwing fastball, change up and favorite pitch (7 total) from behind the catcher with pitch speeds announced.

2) What is a "Virtual Showcase"

An additional benefit of an FPOS recruiting event is the video taoed portions are made into a "Virtual Showcase" and this link is emailed to the extensive FPOS college coach database. The player information book is also included for college coaches to download. The link to the player book is only visible to college coaches for security reasons.

3) What is a "mini-skills" video?

Since the "Virtual Showcase" link contains all of the event participants, the player has the option to purchase a "mini- skills" of just their performance. The mini- skills video contains the actual, unedited performance of the participant at certain stations during the showcase. All participants are filmed at a hitting station and a defensive station. Catchers are shown throwing to second (5 throws) , Infielders are shown fielding ground balls (5 reps), Outfields are shown catching flyballs (5 reps)  and pitchers are shown throwing fastball, changeup and their favorite pitch (7 pitches total). The mini skills video is a great tool for players to market themselves to college coaches as it is seen as an under pressure performance much like live game footage.

4) Does FPOS promote the event to college coaches?

FPOS goes to great lengths to promote the event to college coaches to attend live - in fact at most events FPOS employes college coaches to work the fields. Also, the Virtual Showcase link of the video taped portions of the event are emailed to the FPOS database so potentially hundreds of colleges can view the event  on demand after the event.

No. This is a showcase event  only where college coaches watch athletes perform stations and evaluate their skills. College coaches can then watch student –athletes latter during the tournament games for further evaluation.
