Recruiting Myths & Facts

All schools are fully funded.

Not true. Even though the NCAA allows 12 full grant in aid scholarships for Division I there are still many schools that do not have this budget amount. Division II is allowed 7.2 full scholarships but yet again, many schools do not have the NCAA maximum. Division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships.

NCAA Division I and Division II schools can provide athletic scholarships. Junior colleges can provide athletic scholarship but the amounts vary. NAIA schools can offer athletic scholarships but again, amounts vary. Bottom line – a very, very small percentage of players receive a “full softball scholarship”.
